HOW TO predict the Future ?

by studying the Past (Technical Analysis):

1) The best traders don't discount one or the other but understand that having an understanding how the fundamentals influence market sentiment gives him/her an edge over those traders who don't.

2) In my opinion, TECHNICAL analysis is the easiest and most accurate way of trading the FOREX market.

3) "The number's don't lie" - all available information and its impact on the market, are already reflected in a currency's price.

4) Prices move in trends - the foreign exchange market is mostly composed of trends and therefore a place where technical analysis can be very effective.

5) History repeats itself - over time, certain chart patterns become consistent, predictable and very reliable. The question is SEEING them.

PRICES MOVE IN TRENDS

The traders who don't believe this obviously have no need to implement a trading methodology on technical analysis. But, research has shown that those who trade "with the trend", greatly improve their changes of making a profitable trade.

Finding the prevailing trend will help you become aware of the overall market direction and offer you better visibility, especially when shorter-term movements tend to clutter the picture.

HOW does technical analysis help to determine what the trend is and HOW to trade with then trend versus against it?

Even though, you learn you how to use and read various technical indicators to identify a long- term trend, spot predictable chart patters and use certain rules to enter and exit a high-probability trade, and even though a ll this involves sound logic, parameters, methods, formulas, data, and research, these technical indicators, by themselves, are not the Holy Grail of FOREX trading.

It takes discipline and emotional control to stick with trading following through the inevitable market ups and downs. Keep in mind, good technical traders expect ups and downs.

Which technical indicators are the BEST?

NONE - technical indicators should simply be components of your overall customized, personalized trading system, and not a stand alone system.

The objectives as a FOREX Technical Trader are:

1) To figure out the price action of the currency pair. Price is the main concern. If the EUR/USD is at 1.2224 and goes to 1.2020, 1.1980, 1.1940- the market is in a down trend.

Despite what every technical indicator might predict, if the trend is down, stay with the trend. Indicators showing where price will go next or what it should be doing are useless.

A trader should only be concerned with what the market is doing, not what the market might do. The price tells you what the market is doing.

2) Always remember that technical indicators are only giving you confirmations based on what the market is telling you. So listen to the market and let it tell you which method, strategy or techniques you should use.

An Overview Of Forex Investing Strategies

FOREX trading refers to an international, 24/7, over the counter, exchange market where currencies of different nations are bought and sold. Trading is always done in pairs assuming the price of currency bought to go up and that sold to fall down. It is the largest liquid financial market making it impossible for any single investor to influence the prices of currencies.

There are two kinds of FOREX investing strategies:

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:

Technical analysis is mostly undertaken by small and medium size investors.
A technical analysis considers factors that are actually affecting the market rather than factors that can affect it. Thus the price quoted reflects all the factors that have influenced it. Only market generated facts and figures are taken into account and factors like fear, hope, expectations or other changes are not considered. Thus the analysis is generally based on these suppositions:

• Price reflects all actual market movements. That means price includes everything known to the market like supply and demand of foreign exchange, political factors, trade agreements etc. It is not concerned with what resulted in change rather deals with actual changes. It works on the assumption that price can take only one of the three directions:

 Upward
 downward
 sideward

• It rest on those market patterns that have been identified as significant. That means those factors which are repetitive in nature or will produce desired results.

• History always repeats itself as human psychology changes very slowly with time. That is market movements are predictable.

VARIOUS TECHNICAL INDICATORS ARE:

1. RELATIVE STRENGTH INDEX:

It takes into account the ratio of upward and downward movements in index and expresses it in the range of zero to hundred.

2.CHARTS:

Charts include various hills, slopes, curves that develop on a chart over a time and reflect some major and minor changes in pattern. Some of the chart formations include:

• TRIANGLE
• RECTANGLE
• HEAD AND SHOULDERS
• DOUBLE TOP AND BOTTOM
• SAUCERS
• V

3.GAPS:

A gap represents area on a bar chart where no trading took place.

• UPGAP: it is formed when the lowest price on a particular day is more than the highest price of previous day.

• DOWNGAP: it is formed when highest price of a certain day is less than the lowest price on previous day.

NUMBERS:

Various number theories are used in technical analysis like:

• Fibonacci theory
• GANN

STOCHASTIC OSCILLATOR:

This indicates the overbought or/and undersold condition. It uses a scale of zero to hundred percent.

FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS:

It is the one where current economic, political, financial situation of the country of currency is studied. A country’s economical and political condition depends upon many factors like the interest rate, unemployment level, exports and imports, per capita income, percentage of population living above and below the poverty line, inflation, trade relations with other countries, tax policies etc.

A fundamental analyst studies and evaluates all these factors before coming to any decision. Thus it helps in long tem decision making and making profits in short term by extra ordinary developments.

Some of the indicators that help in fundamental analysis include:

1. GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT:

It reflects total market value of all the goods and services produced in a country during a given year.

2. RETAIL SALES:

This reflects total receipts by all the retail stores in a country.

3. CONSUMER PRICE INDEX:

It reflects change in prices of consumer goods.

4. BUSINESS CYCLE:

It reflects various phases through which a business passes. These phases include:

• EXPANSION
• PEAK
• RECESSION
• DEPRESSION

5. MONETRY POLICY:

It controls the supply of money in an economy.

Trading successfully needs knowledge, time and understanding of a market. You cannot earn continuously in a Forex market due to its volatile nature. Thus as a trader you should try to consider both technical and fundamental strategies of forex trading and make decision based on market expectations and trends. Try trading with money that you can afford to loose without any regrets. Trade with logic and if you are not sure quit and take rest for some time.

It is 30 times larger than the combined volume of all U.S. equity markets. This means that 1,498,574 skilled traders could each take 1 million dollars out of the FOREX market every day and the FOREX would still have more money left than the New York Stock would have daily!

What You Didn’t Know About The Psychology Of Forex Market Trading – And How It Might Bankrupt You

Article Body:

When it comes to trading on the Forex market, winning is a matter of the mind rather than mind over matter. Any trader who’s been in the game for any length of time will tell you that psychology has a lot to do with both your own performance on the trading floor and with the way that the market is moving. Playing a winning hand depends on knowing your own mind – and understanding the way that psychology moves the market.

Studying the psychology of the market is nothing new. It doesn’t take a genius to understand that any arena that rides and falls on decisions made by people is going to be heavily influenced by the minds of people. Few people take into account all the various levels of mind games that motivate the market, though. If you keep your eye on the way that psychology influences others – including the mass psychology of the people that use the currency on a daily basis – but neglect to know what moves you, you’re going to end up hurting your own position. The best Forex coaches will tell you that before you can really become a successful trader, you have to know yourself and the triggers that influence you. Knowing those will help you overcome them or use them. Are you saying ‘Huh?” about now? Believe me, I understand. I felt the same way the first time that someone tried to explain how the mind games we play with ourselves influence the trades and decisions that we make. Let me break it down into more manageable pieces for you.

Anything involving winning or losing large sums of money becomes emotionally charged.

All right. You’ve heard that playing the market is a mathematical game. Plug in the right numbers, make the right calculations and you’ll come out ahead. So why is it that so many traders end up on the losing end of the market? After all, everyone has access to the same numbers, the same data, the same info – if it’s math, there’s only one right answer, right?

The answer lies in interpretation. The numbers don’t lie, but your mind does. Your hopes and fears can make you see things that just aren’t there. When you invest in a currency, you’re investing more than just money – you make an emotional investment. Being ‘right’ becomes important. Being ‘wrong’ doesn’t just cost you money when you let yourself be ruled by your emotions – it costs you pride. Why else would you let a loser ride in the hope that it will bounce back? It’s that little thing inside your head that says, “I KNOW I’m right on this, dammit!”

Bottom line: You can’t keep emotions out of the picture, but you can learn not to let them control your decisions.

To most people, being right is more important than making money.

Here’s the deal. The way to make real money in the forex market is to cut your losses short and let your winners ride. In order to do that, you have GOT to accept that some of your trades are going to lose, cut them loose and move on to another trade. You’ve got to accept that picking a loser is NOT an indication of your self-worth, it’s not a reflection on who you are. It’s simply a loss, and the best way to deal with it is to stop losing money by moving on – and really move on. Moving on means you don’t keep a running total of how many losses you’ve had – that’s the way to paralyze yourself. This brings us to the next point:

Losing traders see loss as failure. Winning traders see loss as learning.

Not too long ago, my twelve year old son told me that before Thomas Edison invented a working light bulb, he invented 100 light bulbs that didn’t work. But he didn’t give up – because he knew that creating a source of light from electricity was possible. He believed in his overall theory – so when one design didn’t work, he simply knew that he’d eliminated one possibility. Keep eliminating possibilities long enough, and you’ll eventually find the possibility that works.

Winning traders see loss in the same way. They haven’t failed – they’ve learned something new about the way that they and the market work.

Winning traders can look at the big picture while playing in the small arena.

Suppose I told you that last year, I made 75 trades that lost money, and 25 that made money. In the eyes of most people, that would make me a pretty poor trader. I’m wrong 75% of the time. But what if I told you that my average loss was $1000, but my average profit on a winning trade was $10,000? That means that I lost $75,000 on trades – but I made $250,000, making my overall profit $175,000. It’s a pretty clear numbers game – but how do you keep on trading when you’re losing in trade after trade? Simple – just remember that one trade does not make or break a trader. Focus on the trade at hand, follow the triggers that you’ve set up – but define yourself by what really matters – the overall record.

Which Forex Brokers Should You Give Your Money?

Article Body:

If you are interested in earning income as a FOREX trader, the first thing you must do is sign up with a FOREX brokerage firm. There are many of them out there, especially online, so you should carefully consider your choices before choosing one. You will find there are all types of FOREX brokerage firms, including small brokers, market makers, and market operators.

Most individuals interested in becoming a FOREX trader will choose a small broker. These types of firms allow individuals to invest a few hundred dollars. Many people will usually trade in this manner because the risks of loss are only as much as the capital they invest. Since most traders usually don't have enough to invest $50,000 or more, going through a small broker is a good option.

Market Makers

Then, there are market makers who are constant buyers and sellers of the FOREX market. When an investor buys a currency and decides to sell it a second later, market makers stand by and buy the currency, even when there is no buyer interested in that currency at the moment. You can look at market markers as the go-between, buying and selling currency when they become available.

Some market markers work with small brokers. Because small brokers have various individual investors, there is always someone looking to buy as well as those looking to sell. When an investor is ready to sell, the small broker collects and assigns the currencies to a market maker. In this way, market makers are literally creating a market by acting as a central dealer.

Large Banks

For investors with millions of dollars in capital, they go through market operators. This type of brokerage firm is usually run by large banks that follow a set of rules and regulations. These brokers are reliable in minimizing risks, but this market is relatively small because there are not many individuals with millions to invest.

As mentioned previously, most individuals go through a small broker. These days, there are no shortages of small brokers with the presence of the internet. With a simple search, you will be able to find all types of small brokers, each wanting a different minimum investment. They make the process more convenient by offering an online trading platform that can be accessed day or night through your home computer.

Trading Platform

Through this valuable trading platform, you can buy and sell currencies as you please, and set up stop loss points to minimize losses. Because everything is automated, you can watch the numbers all-day if you please. But most people have other ties throughout the day, so the trading software has options where you can set up to sell when a certain amount of pips have been reached. You can set both the upper and lower limits.

With this free-flowing investing where you can buy or sell currencies at the click of a button, FOREX is quickly gaining in popularity. As with any investing activity, you should properly educate yourself by learning to invest wisely, analyze the market, and predict currency changes.

Why Forex is a great trade

The Forex market seems to be one of the hottest markets right now.

Let’s take a look why

It takes small amount of capital to get going and you get leverage with it.

This is important because a lot of people entering the market are looking for ways to make money and not just to invest their spare cash.

Leverage means that you can use other people’s money to make your investment bigger. Not to try to scare you but this also introduces greater chance for Loss. This is not for the faint hearted or people not willing to learn how to trade, understand their trading phycology and follow money management rules. Having been duly warned please keep reading about the great potential and positive aspects of Forex trading.

Leverage is a very powerful tool to make money very quickly.

The Forex Market is the largest in the world worth more than a Trillion dollars a day. This is important for many reasons:

It provides amazing liquidity. There are always people ready to buy and sell so you can always enter and exit your position easily. Smaller markets may not always give you the ability to exit your trade so easily.

It is difficult for larger players to influence the market. In the stock market the larger players can influence a particular stock and cause movement just by their trades.

The sun is always shining somewhere.

There is always trading going on 24 hours a day Monday to Friday. It goes from city to city following the sun. Plus you still get your weekends of to relax. With stocks the markets closes and news is released and the stock can gap at the open leaving you in a worse position. When you can trade a very liquid market open 24 Hours it makes it a whole lot easier to manage your positions and relax.

You are trading so that you can have a better life right?, not just stuck in front of a computer. It is important to get clear on why you are trading or you can just be just swapping one situation for another and not really improving your life. Pep talk over with let’s get on with it.

Volatility

Stocks may go in sideways movements and suddenly rush up or down and there are a lot of stocks to choose from. Sure there is some stocks renown for being volatile but it is easier to find consistent volatility in the Forex market. The market is always moving so there are always plenty of opportunities for day trading

So I obviously think that the Forex Market provides great opportunity for people to enrich their lives. It gives people willing to learn a little a great lifestyle that many will envy.

I hope that you enjoyed that simple summary. There are many more great reasons to trade forex.

Who Are The Top Forex Chart Providers?

Article Body:

When it comes to investing on the Forex, there are two basic paths you can choose: Fundamental or Technical. Fundamental investors look at changing interest rates, GDP figures, and other economic indicators to help them anticipate fluctuations in the exchange rates of currency pairs. Technical traders, on the other hand, look for trends in the market to help them identify currency pairs and the best enter and exit points on a position.

Fundamental investors rely upon news releases and their overall impression of the economic outlook of nations in a currency pair. Technical traders, however, use charts and the application of analysis to help guide their investment decisions. Fundamental investors tend to be short-term investors while technical traders try to look at the bigger picture and be more focused upon the long-term pricing outlook.

In truth, most technical retail traders on the Forex market do not have the time to compile charts from scratch. While many retail investors do import information into programs like Excel in order to interpret the information, they still tend to rely on an outside source for the raw data. To do this, the technical retail trader relies upon Forex chart providers like the following:

• FxTrek

• ESignal

• FX-Charts

So who is the top Forex chart provider? The answer to this question depends upon the individual investor but you do want to look for a provider that produces charts that are easy-to-read and relevant to the particular strategy you employ. Now there are chart providers that are going to insist upon offering up a ton of “insider secrets” to the market in addition to their charts. In fact, all providers will provide some degree of insight but this is no criteria to choose a chart by—this information will only confuse you and cause you to doubt your investment strategy.

If there is one common problem to most investors new to the Forex it is a tendency to over trade and ignore the stops they put into place when acquiring a position. Fear is a common human emotion and it guides more investments than people think but it also causes people to exit positions prematurely and over trade. While the opinions of investment experts may sound perfectly logical and a lot more involved than your own strategy—they are just opinions. The market is always right—no investing expert can claim likewise.

Once you acquire a position, place your stops and keep them in place. Losses will happen but you need to perfect your own investing strategy using continual back testing and chart analysis—not listening to the opinion of others once you are already in the game. What you need most of all from an FX chart provider is accurate and easy-to-read charts. While the advice may be helpful when learning the market and prior to acquiring a position, it tends to breed fear and cause doubt once you already are in the game. Thus, choose your chart provider based upon their charts—not the advice they produce each and every month!

Winning Strategies With Forex Charts

As you read forex charts, remember that the two fundamental approaches for online forex trading: fundamental analysis and technical analysis.

Fundamental analysis doesn’t rely on forex charts. It scrutinizes political and economic indicators to determine trades. Charts here are deployed as used as a secondary reference.

Technical analysis on the other hand, attempts to predict price swings by analysis of historical price activity. Those who use technical analysis study the relationship between price and time.

The most actively traded pair of currencies is the Euro and the US dollar, so we will use them in our example. The dollar is on the right hand side of the chart and the Euro is on the left hand side. The currencies are expressed in relationship to each other in pairing. Forex charges will always display how much of the currency on the right hand side is necessary to buy a unit of the currency on the left side. Looking at the typical EU-USD, chart you will notice the last price displayed per given date. This number is always emphasized. The time is tabbed horizontally across the bottom of a chart and the price scale is displayed vertically along the right hand edge of the chart. The time and the price are set in all caps to help the trader remember that technical analysis rests upon the relationship between time and price.

The trader observes the price and time movement on a chart. These include bars, lines, point and figure, and Japanese candle sticks-- the most favored method. With the candlestick method there is a large, red section that is the body of the candlestick. Lines protrude from the top and bottom and they are the upper and lower wicks. When you look at all the candles on a chart it is apparent that bodies come by difference sizes. Sometimes no body exists at all.

The same is true with wicks. Candle wicks come by many difference sizes; there may be no wick at all. The length of the body and the length of the wick are determined by the price range for the candle. Longer candles will have had more price movement during the time that they were open. The top of a candle wick is the highest price for that currency while the wick’s bottom is the lowest price. A currency is bullish when the close of the candle is higher than the open. In simple terms this means that there were more buyers than there were sales during the opening time period. Sometimes the candles will not have wicks. The price opened and it dropped off until it closed.

Forex charts don’t offer bullet proof trading hints, but they can help a trader. Past trends do have their place in forex trading as most traders will admit, and using the charts to track historical trends can assist a trader in making a snap decision.

The online investor typically joins a service that provides realtime charts that updates on currency activity. Charts can be checked on a minute to minute basis. For those who primarily do their trading based on historical accuracy this can ease the burden of prediction.

Most forex traders however use a combination of fundamental and technical analysis. They may chart historical trends, but they will also pay close attention to political, cultural and economic indicators within a region. They might use charts and other techniques to check correlation between political climate and currency fluctuations. But even the most sophisticated technical analysis software or tool has its limitations. A trader must be prepared to take risks… and invest money that is not needed for the immediate future.

What’s With Forex Margins?

Article Body:

Buying on margin is almost a necessity in the Forex (Foreign Exchange market) because the standard transaction is $100,000 and known as a “lot”. Lots have to be that big on the Forex because of the sheer volume of money changing hands—nearly $1.8 trillion dollars every day (and the market is open 24 hours per day, Sunday through Friday). This huge volume is a large draw for investors along with other advantages, such as:

• Large volatility means great opportunity for profit

• Large volume means market is liquid and easy to enter/exit a position

• Ability to profit whether the market is rising or falling

• Stops and other account instruments can limit risk while ensuring maximum profitability

• Opportunity for commission free trades

It’s simple: The greater the risk, or volatility, the greater the potential for profit. In truth, retail or smaller Forex investors could not even play on the Forex market until rather recently. Prior to that, only investment banks, hedge funds, and really big investors could even trade on the Forex. Without leveraging accounts (or trading “on margin”), there is no way that the average investor could afford to trade.

Now although the average Forex transaction is called a lot and $100,000, there are brokers that permit investors to trade “mini-lots” for $10,000 and some even offer “micro-lots”. However, the typical transaction is a lot and the typical investor would need to put up $1,000 in order to acquire a position, or 1%. Brokers and trading institutions need to have some kind of collateral in case of loss. For retail Forex traders, that collateral is the 1% margin put up to acquire the position. The broker will credit the trading account with this margin and secure it in the event of any future trading losses.

Because of the large minimum trading amounts, leveraged trading is simply a practical necessity for the retail Forex trader. However, because investment banks and other similar institutions must guarantee the loans used to leverage your trade—there is naturally an interest charge to factor into the transaction. While margins do allow smaller investors to realize the huge profits available in the Forex, they tend to enhance the rates of loss while adding a systemic cost to the process.

Leveraged financing, however, is the backbone of the new Forex and definitely has helped to fuel its trade volume. It is not common for losses to create a negative account because most brokers will close out an account once the margin has been used. However, losses will mount quickly in such a volatile market which is why all investors are advised to place stops with their orders. If stops are not placed and the account is not set up to zero out when the margin has been used, it is possible to incur losses all the way up to the size of the transaction, or $100,000 in most cases.

It definitely scares some investors to think about the potential for loss when leveraging a position. However, by simply setting stops in place, the potential for dramatic loss is contained while still allowing the investor the potential for unlimited profits. Forex margins are a reality for retail traders but there is nothing to worry about so long as you set your account up properly and put stops in place.

Ideally, you buy stock or currencies at its lowest price and sell at its highest.

Practically speaking, you do the best you can between these unpredictable extremes.

For, as you will see, the low does not become apparent until your stock begins to rise above it, the high is not established until your stock begins to drop away.

Although all of us could wish it otherwise, no bells, no flashing lights, no 21-gun salutes ever mark the bottom or the top.

Timing your stock transactions, therefore, is perhaps the most delicate element of investment, the decision requiring the keenest judgment and the surest touch. Experience helps, although success is not necessarily proportional to it. Veterans of the market, men who have been buying and selling for 30 or 40 years, sometimes seem to have a sixth sense about turning points, up or down, for individual stocks, or industrial groups, or the market as a whole.

On what seems to be no discernible evidence, they will mutter, "Well, I think the market's going to fall out of bed," and, sure enough, within a week there is a 9 or 10 point reaction. Yet newcomers may also acquire this skill with surprising speed.

Since judgment is a subjective quality, there are no firm rules for applying it. But there are generalities that can begin to define objectives and delimit areas of choice. And there are a number of techniques which attempt, more or less successfully, to better the average results obtained from trying to calculate timing arbitrarily.

Most professionals will tell you, right off, not to try for the extremes. The surest way to miss tops or bottoms is to wait for that last extra point of gain, that one more point of drop. Usually, an investor is considered to have done very well if he buys or sells within 5 points of the limit on a moderate-to-wide swing, within a point or two over a narrow range.

Another way of looking at the ideal objective is to reverse it: try to avoid selling at the low or buying at the top. This may seem to be superfluous advice, but both have happened many times when emotion entered heavily into judgment. Buying near or at the top is a temptation when a stock has been rising swiftly and steadily and the investor is eager to get aboard. The top, after all, is only relative.

New tops may be within reach which will make the current one seem a reasonable buying level. Selling near or at a low is tempting when a stock has slid downward and the holder has become disenchanted with it. The impulse is to sell out, take the loss, avoid further trouble, and be well rid of the dog.

The correctness of these decisions cannot be judged in the abstract. They depend, first, on your objectives (See Chapter 3) and on how closely or satisfactorily you have realized them. And they depend on your analysis of the several dimensions of highness and lowness involved.

Buying for income is relatively easy. The indicated dividend divided by the current price will give the yield in percentage terms. If the yield suits you, and investigation suggests that it is likely to be maintained, the price is right, whether it is in the high, middle, or low range for the year.

The problem of the buyer-for-income in recent years, of course, has been the fact that a rising market has reduced yields to some very uninspiring levels. The average yield of 10 big oils in the first quarter of 1959 was 3 per cent. For five chemicals it was 2.24 per cent. For seven steels it was 3.85 per cent. Only the better railroads were around 5 per cent, as a group.

Strictly on an income basis, the investor would do better at the savings bank than in oils and chemicals, and might be considered to have missed his market in these categories. The choice then is whether to argue himself into accepting 3 or 3.5 per cent (or 2.2 if he wants G.E., 1.5 if he wants Dow) in a sought-after category, whether to switch categories, or whether to ignore the market until conditions are more to his liking. There may also be a temptation to jump into a stock that for some reason is still yielding 5 or 6 per cent, although it would be foolish to do so without determining why it has maintained a high price/dividend relationship when everything else is low.

If the objective is capital gain, timing becomes more crucial. Somehow you must determine how many more points above the current price your stock is likely to go, and whether this will be a satisfactory profit, considering that possibly 25 per cent of it will go for taxes.

All rises must be predicated on earnings, or the expectation of earnings. Take, for instance, a stock selling at 50 and paying $2. This is a 4 per cent yield, which, we'll say, is about average for this market this year.

Now, news gets out that it is possible that the company will earn $6 per share by year's end. Since a 50-per cent payout is the general practice, a dividend rise to $3 is indicated.

Naturally, there will be a small rush toward the stock and a rise in the market price, probably to 75, or the new equivalent of 4 per cent.

This is the simplest sort of cause-and-effect relationship, so simple, in fact, that it practically never happens just this way. If prices reacted exclusively on good or bad dividend news or expectations, the market would be far more static than it is. Still, earnings and the benefits there from that shower down on the stockholder are the basic premise of stock activity.

The biggest complicating factor is the general absence of hard information. It's rare that a jump in earnings can be positively pin-pointed, or pin-pointed before a market rise has taken effect. As a result, most investors have to contend with a vast range of other investors' hopes, guesses, anticipations, and facts.

Furthermore, the stocks believed to have the greatest potential for growth usually vary the general pattern. The Dows, Minneapolis Honeywells, Owens-Cornings, and Minnesota Minings have long since been pushed to levels where their dividend returns are virtually meaningless, and where perhaps even their growth potential has been completely discounted.

Still, these extremities were more marked when stocks generally were yielding 5 and 6 per cent. Now that so many yield 3 and under, the growth specials do not seem so unreasonable at less than 2.

What Is The Forex?

Article Body:

Simply put, the Forex is the foreign exchange market. It’s where travelers, banks, and companies that do business internationally change money, in effect buying one currency and selling another.

Profits are made from the difference in value between the two currencies (the exchange rate). Because currencies are no longer tied to the gold standard, exchange rates are constantly fluctuating. Speculators trade currencies with the expectation that one will gain in strength against the other. These trades are leveraged, with a small downpayment controlling a much larger sum, so even small changes in value can create large profits or losses.

The Forex is the mother of all markets, with trading of more than U.S. $1.5 trillion daily. That’s more than one hundred times the size of the New York Stock Exchange. Because the market is so large, it’s extremely liquid; there’s always an immediate buyer or seller for any of the major currency pairs. Most of this trading is done for profit; only five percent of the trades made each day are for the purpose of changing currencies for business or travel.

The Forex market is also so large that it cannot be manipulated. Even powerful central banks can’t force the market to do their bidding, as the Bank of England found out in 1992. When the BoE used its reserves to support the pound against the Euro, investors traded against the pound and by sheer numbers overwhelmed the BoE. It’s rumored that one investor, George Soros, made a profit of U.S. $1 billion overnight.

The Forex is a completely virtual marketplace. There’s no building where buyers and sellers meet, or where brokers hang out looking for action. All trading takes place over the telephone or on the Internet. Small investors trade through currency brokers, who in turn place their orders through large banks. Commissions are low and are built into the exchange rate.

It was once said that the sun never set on the British Empire. The same can be said for the Forex trading “day,” which lasts roughly six days. It opens in Sydney with the local Monday morning, then moves with the sun to Tokyo, Frankfurt, London, and finally New York, ten back around again to Sydney. It closes in New York on Friday evening. This means that, at any time of the day or night during each work week, some currency, somewhere around the world, is actively trading. The clock may say it’s midnight, but there are still opportunities to make money on the Forex.

These long trading hours allow investors to speculate on the results of world events as they’re happening. If a country has announced that it will release data relating to its economic growth or decline, an investor can take advantage of the influence of that announcement on the country’s currency—even if it’s taking place during his night.

The Forex used to be closed to small investors. It was the private playground of banks, large corporations, and the major players in the money-making game. But a change of laws in 2000 opened the field to everyone. Now online Forex dealers offer multiple options for the small trader or investor, with trading accounts as low as U.S. $300.

What Moves The Forex Markets?

Investors in any market, be it securities or currencies, wants to know what causes price fluctuations so they can predict them and make a profit. While stock investors research publicly traded corporations in order to make trading decisions, those on the Forex must consider what influences the currency exchange rates between nations. Because it is so volatile with significant fluctuations in short term prices, it is especially important for the Forex trader to understand what moves the markets in order to be successful and make a profit.

Partly because trades occur 24 hours a day between Sunday and Friday afternoon, the Forex is a very volatile market. Just as with equities, pricing on the Forex is influenced by economic and political factors facing the nations involved in the currency pair. Because the U.S. dollar is used to back 90% of all the transactions on the Forex and its economy plays such a significant role in the world economy, economic data released by the government will affect market prices—temporarily. Here are some of the prime releases that Forex scalpers or day traders tend to look at when determining whether or not to enter a position:

1. Interest Rate Decisions

2. GDP rate increase/decrease

3. Unemployment data

4. Inflation: Consumer/Produce price

5. Retail Sales

6. Consumer Confidence Surveys

7. Business Confidence Surveys

8. Trade Balance

9. Manufacturing Confidence Surveys

However, while all of these forces no doubt play a short term role in price movements on the Forex and other financial markets, their influence is very temporary and the prices soon reflect them. It is not common for Forex scalpers or day traders to enjoy long-term success because the volatile nature of the market makes losses more likely with more trading.

There is another force that does play a role in the movements of all financial markets: human behavior. Indeed, Psychology is a very big factor in any investment decision and its effects can be studied in financial charts. Four human emotions play very big roles in the price movements on the Forex:

· Greed

· Fear

· Faith

· Hope

Greed compels even technical traders to ignore stopping points and chase a trend too far—to the point of loss or losing a significant portion of profits. Once an exit point has been reached—cash out.

Fear of loss is a very common human emotion and it definitely causes many investors to take a loss too hard and quit investing. However, simply setting acceptable stop/loss orders will prevent you from losing more than you are comfortable with.

Even faith and hope can cause us to chase profits too far or not get out when losses start to mount. Technical analysis, continuous back testing, and sticking with an investment strategy while being open to adjustment—these are all common traits in the most successful traders. Although the economic indicators and news releases do play a short term role in prices, it is ultimately human Psychology that moves the Forex.

Why Forex Trading Is So Popular

Article Body:

The Forex market is often more appealing to people that like to live on the edge. There is more uncertainty by far and the rewards of knowing when to buy and sell can be immense.

For those of you who don’t know, the Forex stands for, Foreign Exchange Market. The Forex deals in all different types of currencies and pits them all against each other. For example: the English pound might be worth more than the American dollar but if there is a natural disaster or a nasty political event, then the pound could drop below the value of the American dollar and thus would make money for the individual who had bought the English pound, when they sell.

The people who trade on the Forex market are known as day traders. The reason for this is that the day trader buys at the beginning of the market for that day and then sells off all that he or she had bought by the end of the day. This type of trading is not for the inexperienced. There is potential to make a lot of money on the Forex market, but it takes a person knowledgeable in all the different facets of this slippery exchange to make money. A neophyte to this market can easily be wiped out in a matter of minutes!

The Forex market is also a liquid market with currencies exchanging hands moment to moment. Since transactions are handled electronically around the world, it only takes moments for funds to transfer to different accounts. It is easy to make some trades, watching news events in the country of the currency bought, and then sell it all, in order have money in your bank account by dinner time.

The Forex market is also open twenty-four hours a day since it encompasses the larger markets all over the world. Theoretically, a trader can work all day and all night. This makes the foreign exchange market very popular since people can trade any time they wish. A person can be trading on the Paris exchange until they close at which time the New York exchange is just opening up for the day. There are five major foreign exchange market around the world. They are New York, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Tokyo, and Zurich.

Many people like to invest in the Forex market since there is a lot of leverage available to the day trader. For instance, five thousand dollars can be leveraged to purchase five hundred thousand dollars through margins. What this means is that individual investors can trade with much more money than they actually have. However, one must be careful; it is quite easy to lose the money and thus has to pay much more than is actually in the bank account.

The Forex market is a challenging market to understand and can be hazardous to those not experienced in day trading. Nevertheless, for those who are experienced and can see the patterns of the market, it can be thrilling and extremely lucrative.

What’s Fibonacci Forex Trading?

Fibonacci forex trading is the basis of many forex trading systems used by a great number of professional forex brokers around the globe, and many billions of dollars are profitable traded every year based on these trading techniques.

Fibonacci was an Italian mathematician and he is best remembered by his world famous Fibonacci sequence, the definition of this sequence is that it’s formed by a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers; 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 ...But in the case of currency trading what is more important for the forex trader is the Fibonacci ratios derived from this sequence of numbers, i.e. .236, .50, .382, .618, etc.

These ratios are mathematical proportions prevalent in many places and structures in nature, as well as in many man made creations.

Forex trading can greatly benefit from this mathematical proportions due to the fact that the oscillations observed in forex charts, where prices are visibly changing in an oscillatory pattern, follow Fibonacci ratios very closely as indicators of resistance and support levels; maybe not to the last cent, but so close as to be really amazing.

Fibonacci price points, or levels, for any forex currency pair can be calculated in advance so that the trader will know when to enter or exit the market if the prediction given by the Fibonacci forex day trading system he uses fulfills its predictions.

Many people tries to make this analysis overly complicated scaring away many new forex traders that are just beginning to understand how the forex market works and how to make a profit in it. But this is not how it has to be. I can’t say it’s a simple concept but it is quite understandable for any trader once he or she has grasped the basics and has had some practice trading using Fibonacci levels along with other secondary indicators that will help to improve the accuracy of the entry and exit point for every particular trade.

World Events and Wise Forex Trading.

Forex trading has the great potential of becoming a profitable and fulfilling career that will let you have a lifestyle that few other lucrative activities in the world can offer to people from many roads in life and without asking any of those men and women for a diploma or some special certification.

But Forex trading is not easy; it may be simple to enter and place your first trade but becoming a profitable trader is a different thing. You will need to acquire the right knowledge and techniques in order to understand and know when to enter or leave a trade always fulfilling the main objective every trader must have; making money.

There are two kinds of analysis you can perform on the Forex markets. They are known as technical analysis and fundamental analysis. It is common that traders tend to divide themselves into “technical” and “fundamentalists”. Each group devoting themselves to the main tools each kind of analysis gives them.

Technical forex traders base their trading on the analysis of the charts and the number of indicators derived from the plots of price oscillations and patterns. Meanwhile Fundamentalists traders base their trading mostly on the fundamental numbers and economical indicators of countries economies. Though, even if divided, both tendencies tend to complement each other to some degree.

In this article I will place myself on the “fundamentalists” side and focus on one of the situations every forex trader must be aware of and don't let the events involved affect his trading efforts.

This risky situation is that when unprecedented chaotic world events start to develop as the trading day goes on. The power of the media (tv, internet, printed) can magnify and sometimes it may even distort the events taking place and impacting the trading journey in a significant manner. The result of this magnification and rapid diffusion of the news about the series of unfavorable events taking place is an increased atmosphere of fear, confusion and uncertainty in the trading world. And fearful traders are not prone to make the best trading choices because they have given themselves to panic and emotional reactions instead of reasoned and intelligent decisions.

If you need to have more specific examples of these kind of events you can search a bit inside your memories and consider the impact of just a few types of unfavorable chaotic world events as the political upheavals or corporate scandals of companies as; Enron, WorldCom, or of people as the case of Martha Stewart trial, etc. There is also the example of the terrorist attacks on Sep 11 in New York, March 11 in Spain, etc. Also natural disasters: tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, freezes, droughts, hurricanes along with wars can cause great disruption in a trading journey.

In short, every forex trader should be totally sure that his method of trading has built-in safe guards (stops, limit orders) to prevent a major financial loss from his trading account in case any of the unfavorable events I mentioned above ever takes place. And being realistic, many of those events will surely happen in the future.

What is Forex Trading?

FOREX, (FOReign EXchange market) or FX, is an international exchange market where stocks and shares are not traded, but currency. The return for the investor is not in the value of the currency per se, but rather the relative exchange value of one currency against another currency. Therefore, Forex trading is always expressed in pairs such as Euro/US Dollar (EUR/USD) or US Dollar/Japanese Yen (USD/JPY).

By simultaneously buying and selling pairs of currencies, the investor, or speculator, hopes to profit from a favorable exchange rate change. Unlike the American stock exchanges, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation System (NASDAQ), Forex trading is more predictable than stocks.

One strategy that the Forex investor uses is a technique that stems from the assumption that all information about the market and a particular currency's future fluctuations is found in the price chain. In other words, an investor simply looks at what has happened to that currency in the recent past, and predicts that the small fluctuations will generally continue just as they have before. Another strategy for the Forex investor is to analyze the country of the currency's economy, political situation, and other possible rumors. The investor can also anticipate such things as political unrest or change that will also have an effect on the market.
Forex is the largest financial market in the world handling between 1.5 and 1.9 trillion US dollars a day. The combination of rather constant but small daily fluctuations in currency prices, create an environment which attracts investors. Because of the the liquidity of the market, unlike some rarely traded stock, traders are able to open and close positions within a few seconds as there are always willing buyers and sellers.

What are the risks?

Because of the sheer scale of the Forex Market, it ensures greater price stability and greater leverage. Also, with built-in protections such as safety margins, automatic limits for buying and selling, and other risk protection measures, the likelihood of ending up in the red even when the Forex market is volatile is drastically reduced. Furthermore, because of its' size, it is near impossible for a single investor to significantly affect the price of a major currency.

However, all Forex traders should be aware that the market is one of the most liquid around and subject to strong currency trends. While leverage figures of up to100:1 are possible, without adequate risk protection in place the gap between profit and loss can be dramatic. Even veteran Forex traders can be caught out from time to time and take large hits. With this type of investor speculation, the golden rule must be: don't risk more than what you can afford to lose.

Why do Forex Trading?

So.. you want to make lots of money in forex trading..? Well, before you get your feet wet....let me refresh your mind why forex trading is such a hot money maker...

Here's a few reasons why....

The cash/spot FOREX markets have certain unique attributes that offer an unmatched potential for profitable trading in any market condition or any stage of the business cycle. It leaves one to wonder why bother in the first place? The answer to that is very simple. Forex trading offers people who trade:

A 24-hour market: A trader has the chance to take advantage of all of the profitable market conditions at any time; which means that there is no waiting for the start like the New York Stock exchange.

Highest liquidity Possible: The FOREX market is the most liquid market in the world. That means that a trader can enter or exit the market whenever they want during almost any market condition minimal execution barriers or risk and no daily trading limit.

High leverage: It has a leverage ratio of up to 400 is normal when compared to a leverage ratio of 2 in the equity markets. Of course, this makes trading in the cash/spot forex market awkward a swell because it makes the risk of the down side loss much higher in the same way that it makes the profit potential on the upside much prettier.

Low cost per transaction: The retail transaction cost is actually less than 0.1% under the normal market conditions. At larger dealers, the spread could be less than 5 pips, and may expand a great deal in fast moving markets.

Always a good market: A trade in the FOREX market means selling or buying one currency against another. In essence, a bull market or a bear market for a currency is defined in terms of the outlook for value against other currencies. If the outlook is positive, you get a bull market where a trader profits by buying the currency against other currencies.

Inter-bank market: The foundation of the FOREX market consists of a global network of dealers that communicate and trade with their clients through electronic networks and telephones. There are no organized exchanges like in futures that are there to serve as a central location to facilitate transactions the way the New York Stock Exchange serves the equity markets.

No one can corner the market: The FOREX market is so large and has so many participants that no single trader, even a central bank, can control the market price for an extended period of time.

It is not completely Unregulated: The FOREX market is seen as an unregulated market although the operations of major dealers like

commercial banks in money centers are regulated under the banking laws.

For the average person who is willing to get into forex trading, this market is just a better bet. With it being so wide open like it is, you have a higher gross potential than with any other trade type.

Wishing you success

Will Forex Trading Be Right For You?

Article Body:

When it comes to Forex currency trading, there are some basic character traits and lifestyle elements that need to be in place in order to make a go of this type of trading.

Here are some examples of traits and conditions that should exist in your life before you embark on a round of currency trading.

Many people are looking for a way to get rich overnight.

That there are many scams out there that continually lure people in with wild promises of instant wealth is easily demonstrated by watching television or checking the bulk folder of your email account.

While there are some people that attempt to make ridiculous promises about the money to be made in currency trading, the fact is that for many it is just like any other type of work.

You must be prepared to put in your time, have some success and also experience some failures now and then.

If you are looking for instant success and have visions of spending the rest of your life on the beach after making a killing with currency trading, then you need to do some serious rethinking.

In like manner, you will need to posses the attribute of patience if you are to get anywhere with currency trades.

While you may indeed experience incremental success with your transactions, your gains will come over time and usually will be rather small in and of themselves.

You may need to hang on to a currency for a period of time rather than trading it off, with an eye to the way you believe things will look a week or a month from now.

Make sure you can keep your cool and allow your better judgment to come into play. Patience tends to be rewarded handsomely.

The state of your finances also is a big factor when it comes to making a decision about getting involved with currency trading.

As with any type of investment, you need to make sure you can afford to lose what you invest without creating any problems with maintaining your current standard of living.

While some people like living on the edge, the fact is there is no glory in going for a deal and ending up having to sell the house in order to cover what turned out to be a bad deal.

If you are not able to keep your head when it comes, to only using your disposable resources, to fund your currency trading, then you need to rethink the whole idea.

There is a lot of money to be made with currency trading. However it is not a venture that is right for everyone.

If you are looking for a get rich quick scheme, have a problem thinking decisions through with a cool head, or have a tendency to not take care of your basic financial needs before you invest, then Forex currency trading is not the right choice for you.

If you are business minded and have the ability to make good logical decisions, then I am sure you will love trading currencies.

It should be noted that Forex trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors.

What Is Forex Trading? Is It Right For Me?

Foreign Currency Exchange (FOREX) Trading is an exhilarating way to trade foreign currency in a market that runs 24 hours a day, five days a week. The Forex market is also the most volatile financial market in the world. It doesn’t have a physical location, trading floor or central exchange like the NYSE or futures market does, but instead it functions and operates amid a global network of banks with trades taking place over an electronic network or by phone. With its nearly nonstop currency market where Forex brokers trade in the currencies of the world, profits are made or lost depending on how various nations’ currencies increase or decrease relative to each other. Current, real time events can influence currency prices and thus Forex trading brokers typically keep track of worldwide events on a minute by minute, hour by hour basis each day.

Even though Forex trading is volatile, there are many things to like about it. Since the Forex Trading System is open 24 hours a day, the majority of each week, it allows for ample time and numerous trading opportunities around the clock. This means Forex Brokers are not under as much pressure to initiate a trade as quickly as if they were playing the stock market. Also, since world government currencies are very liquid, they are much easier to trade than other securities. As with the stock and option markets, profits can be made either way, whether in a rising or falling market. And since Foreign Currency Trading is volatile by nature, it can afford even more profit opportunities than other markets.

Of course a person’s Forex Trading Strategy should be to profit from the movement in currency values. As with any financial market, the more times a person “gets it right”, the more money they will make. In Forex or FX Trading, currency pairs are always used. FX Traders will try to determine, for instance, if the U.S. Dollar will rise in value over the British Pound, or vice versa. This is called a Currency Pair. Another trader may have some Forex information that informs them that the Euro will increase in value against the Dollar. They would then pay X amount of Dollars for X amount of Euros. As time went on and the Euro did strengthen against the Dollar then they could sell the Euros for even more Dollars than they had invested originally. Foreign Currency Exchange is essentially the simultaneous buying of one currency and the selling of another.

There is no doubt that the Forex Currency Trading System is unique. It has its own set of rules and opportunities. It can be as fast moving or slow as a trader would like. A big advantage is the number of hours in a week that a trader can place and execute trades. It can be volatile just as with any market. If a person studies their options and does their homework, a great deal of profit making opportunities exists in Foreign Currency Trading. As with any financial markets, a good Forex Trading Strategy will go a long way in determining what kind of profits you will make.

Which Forex Trading System To Choose?

forex trading system

Article Body:

What Are Forex Trading Systems?

A Forex trading system is a set of rules which are aimed to ensure that you are trading in a way that is free of bias and the influence of emotion. Most beginner traders will look to learn a forex trading system whereas more experienced traders will eventually move to build a trading system of their own.

A good Forex trading system should look to encompass and cover for all possible eventualities which the markets may through up. In that respect, they should comprise of rules which govern, amongst other things the following:

1. Which currency pairs to trade.

2. When exactly to enter and exit a trade.

3. Where to place Stop Losses and Take Profit rates.

Forex trading systems must always be tested against historical data (known as back-testing). Beginner traders, when looking to purchase a forex trading system, should always ensure that the system was properly backtested and that the results are genuine. There are certain software packages available now which back-test trading systems automatically.

Which Forex Trading System To Choose?

This will depend upon your trading style. Some traders are swing traders and will look to keep positions for days, weeks or even months. Others prefer a day trading style and will be in and out of a trade within the same day. A typical swing trading system will look to take larger moves ranging from 100-300 pips over a period of a few days or weeks. On the other hand, an intraday forex system looks for smaller opportunities ranging from 25-50 pips.

Forex scalping systems have become popular of late as well. Scalping is a trading style which looks to take profits on very small price changes, usually soon after a trade has been entered into and becomes profitable. It is a strategy that does not look to capture 50+ pip moves; rather it is more about watching the price and getting in and out of trades for quick 5 pip moves which little by little add up.

While this might sound risky, it can be quite a low risk strategy if performed correctly. As with all trading systems, the most important parameter which has to be addressed here is money management. Having a strict exit strategy and rules on how much of your equity to risk per trade must be clearly outlined.

Why Trading The Forex Is A New Trend

Article Body:

The foreign exchange market, otherwise known as the forex, was first established in 1971. Despite being in existence for over 35 years, the forex just recently started to become a new and popular trend; a popular trend that many are hoping to become a part of.

Around the late 1990’s, the forex market reached a critical point in its history. It was then that forex brokerage firms first opened to the general public. This opening gave everyone the opportunity to trade the forex. Before that point, the foreign exchange market was only for large financial institutions, corporations (particularly those that did business overseas) and central banks. Since the opening of forex brokerage firms to the public, a large number of individuals, from all walks of life, have started trading the forex. This alone has made trading the forex one of today’s “hottest” trends.

In conjunction with brokerage firms opening to the general public, the low-cost of trading on the foreign exchange market is just another one of many reason why trading the forex market is a new trend, especially among those who never imagined themselves trading. Although brokerage firms and brokers vary, you will find that a large number of forex brokers, in the United States, do not charge transaction fees. These transaction fees are also commonly referred to as commissions. The forex also has minimal trading requirements. This not only means that you can trade as often as you would like to, but it also means that you can trade with much less money than you would in other markets. This is great for those who are interested in experimenting with the forex market without risking large amounts of capital.

Another reason why forex trading is considered a new trend is because of around-the-clock trading. The foreign exchange market has markets all around the world. For instance, markets can be found in London, the United States, and Hong Kong. Due to different time zones, the forex is open for trading twenty-four hours a day, five days a week. In the Untied States and all around the world, many individuals work a traditional nine to five job. A nine to five job makes it difficult, if not impossible, to trade the stock market. With around the clock trading, time isn’t an issue with the forex. The ability to trade on your own schedule, whether it be early in the morning or late at night, is one of the many reasons why trading the forex market is being considered one of the “hottest,” new trends today.

Of course, the ability to make money or yield a profit is the greatest reason as to why trading the forex is a new trend. The foreign exchange market or the forex involves the exchange of foreign currencies. With leveraging floating exchange rates, the potential to yield a profit is high. As previously mentioned, the forex market has very small trading minimums. That is why many individuals decide to test the forex market waters. To their surprise, many are able to make a small profit. That small profit often leads to more trades and the opportunity to yield even large profits. While there are risks associated with trading the forex, as with the stock market, many of the risks can be mitigated as long as you and other traders know what you are doing.

Speaking of knowing what you are doing, forex training courses are another one of the many reasons why forex trading is a new trend. Forex training courses, although they come in a number of different formats, are designed to educate hopeful traders, like you. Many training courses, such as the training courses offered by Fxcenter.com, rely on different approaches or phases, such as online forex training, onsite forex training, and live market training. Extensive training courses, similar to the ones offered by Fxcenter.com, are ideal as they allow you to examine and explore trading the forex at your own pace. With most forex training courses at least twenty-hours long, there is more than enough time to adequately familiarize yourself with forex trading. This familiarization is what gives many hopeful traders the confidence needed to trade the forex, which only further increases its popularity, making it a trend.

Since it is apparent to see that trading the forex is a new trend, are you capitalizing on that trend? If not, you are urged to examine trading the forex. After a close examination, you will not only see the many reasons as to why you should, but the many rewards of doing so.

Why Forex?

The Foreign Exchange Market (FOREX) is three times larger than the total amount of the stocks and futures markets combined. It is becoming more and more popular.

Because there is neither physical location nor a central exchange for FOREX it can operate 24 hours, moving across the time zones from one financial center to another, from Monday to Friday.

There are great opportunities in the FOREX market because of the constant movements of the exchange rates. The currencies are always traded in pairs, and traders can make profits both when the prices go up and down. There is always good market trading opportunity for a FOREX trader in any economic outlook.

Everybody can learn how to trade in FOREX. Of course the importance of proper education and training before entering live trading cannot be overestimated. Without it the chance of success is almost zero. Fortunately everybody can practice with a demo account before entering live trading. The good thing about FOREX is that the amount of money someone needs to place a trade (known as "margin") is all that can be lost.

Of course, with the proper self-taught education traders will win more than they will lose, but everybody should know that despite the high leverage of FOREX trading (200:1 is possible, which means that when a trader puts up $1 the trading vendor will allow the trader to trade it as if the trader had $200), it’s still less risky than futures (commodities) trading. And when someone trades stocks he or she can’t get this type of leverage. Margin is low and leverage is high, so there is possibility of big profits (but losses, too).

There are no commissions in FOREX. No exchange fees, no government fees, no brokerage fees and no clearing fees. There are no middlemen, too. Clients interact directly with the market.

Unlike in other markets it is possible to start trading with only $100 with a mini-account. The transaction cost is very low and the FOREX market is the most liquid, so the trader can enter or exit it in almost any condition.

Because of the FOREX market’s liquidity and twenty 24 hours continuous trading, dangerous trading gaps and limit moves are eliminated. Orders are executed very quickly, without slippage. With a good research it is easy to find good brokers, who will automatically close some or all of open positions if the account’s equity falls below the level required to hold the positions. It is impossible to lose more than the amount of money in FOREX account.

Everybody can trade online from home. It is a great possibility for people who want to work from home, but don’t like selling and marketing. All that is needed to start trading is a computer with Internet access and a proper training.

Because the FOREX market is so huge, there is no possibility of someone controlling the market price for a long time. There is no possibility of insider trading and the governments influence is very limited.
Trading currencies is much simpler than stocks. There are only a few major currency pairs. No need to think which of thousands of stocks to trade.

There is no waiting for months like in futures market. Trades in FOREX rarely exceed two days.

The enormous marketplace of FOREX will grow bigger as more people are joining it every day.

What Is Forex Market?

Article Body:

The forex market, or foreign exchange market, is a trading market where people will trade currencies around the world. The forex market is like the stock market in that money is traded and that people on the market can gain or lose money in trading, but it is much larger than any other market out there. That is because all kinds of monies are being traded at any time of the day.

Like with stock market prices currency exchange rates will change every day and can be different at any time of day. Therefore, it will be important to watch how your forex market investments are doing so that you do not lose any money in your transactions.

Also, you should understand that the forex market is open all day long. There are major forex market trading areas around the world, including locations in London, New York, Zurich and Tokyo. There is always at least one forex market trading area open during the day. The exchange rates will be different throughout the day, especially when the forex market in one city closes for the day and another at a different point in the world opens.

There are many different currencies that are being traded on the forex market. These include the American, Australian and Canadian dollars, the Swiss franc, and Euro and Japanese yen. When using the forex market you can trade a currency against another one trade it for another currency in order to help increase your revenues and earn more interest.

One great benefit of forex market trading is that there is very little possibility of any insider trading involved. Insider trading, although it is illegal, does happen in traditional stock markets, as people will know inside business secrets that will allow for people to buy stock before it begins to go up significantly in value. While the forex market does have people buying and selling things like in the regular stock market, insider trading is not found in the forex market because the changes are all based on how people buy and sell and by how the value of the economy of different countries is going.

It is also easy to identify different currencies on the forex market. This is because all of the currencies on the forex market are identified by three-letter codes to help distinguish between them all. For instance, the American dollar is listed as the USD, and the Euro is listed as the EUR. These codes make it simple to remember what currencies are out there for trading.

The forex market is a great market for you to consider investing in. If you would like to learn more about the forex market and how you can get involved you should consult your local broker for information. Also, be sure to look up information on the broker you are interested in working with to see if it is the right one for you to be working with for the forex market.

What To Consider When Comparing Forex Brokerages

The forex market is a great place for individual investors, large and small, to engage in thrilling, fast-paced and potentially profitable trades. But you can't participate in forex currency trading if you don't first have a forex brokerage account. While most stock-market brokerages allow you to also trade bonds, mutual funds, and other financial instruments, forex brokerage accounts are typically standalone entities. Here is what you need to know about opening a brokerage account.

Leverage

One of the major benefits of trading currencies is the tremendous amount of leverage even small-time traders are allowed. Typical leverage is 100:1, meaning for every $1 in your brokerage account, you can control up to $100 in currencies. A thousand dollars would thus allow you to control $100,000 worth of currency, so if the currency went up by 1% -- $1,000 -- you would actually double your money! But if the currency went down by just 1%, you would lose all $1,000 of your investment. What would happen if the currency went down by 2%? Well, theoretically, you would lose $1,000 above and beyond your initial investment, but in reality, a brokerage firm will usually step in and prevent this kind of loss.

Your main decision is what level of leverage to apply for. Leverage is given based on credit-worthiness, so if your credit report is pretty poor, you might want to pursue just 50:1 leverage -- which still gives you a lot of room to profit but limits your risk. Alternatively, if you have true nerves of steel and a real knack for forex trading, you may be able to apply for as great as 250:1 leverage!

Spreads

The good news is that there are no commissions charged on forex trades. The bad news is that, like stocks, forex currency pairs do have a bid/ask spread -- meaning a market maker will pay less for a currency than he is willing to sell it for. These spreads are extremely small, usually less than 0.05 cents, but the wider the spread, the more costly trading will be over the long run.

Not every brokerage has the same spreads, so it is important to review the typical distance between the bid and ask prices before selecting a broker.

Other Considerations

First and foremost among all other considerations are the currency pairs that a given brokerage deals in. For example, if you want to perform a Japanese yen for Swiss franc trade, you will need to find a brokerage that offers that currency pair. Virtually every forex brokerage deals in the main currency pairs -- the U.S. dollar vs. each of the following currencies: The Euro, the British pound, the Australian dollar, the New Zealand dollar, the Canadian dollar, the Swiss franc, and the Japanese yen -- but not all brokers deal in every possible "cross currency" pair (i.e. currency pairs that do not involve the U.S. dollar).

Finally, it's important to deal with a reputable broker. Currency trading is far less regulated than most other financial markets, and there are a lot of fly-by-night companies in the business. Be sure to investigate the company before sending them a check for a few thousand dollars -- it will be time well spent.
